To configure CodeTwo Backup for secure Exchange recovery, you must establish a secure server connection, create a password-protected storage repository, and deploy an automated backup job. This setup guarantees continuous, granular data protection for on-premises Exchange servers or Exchange Online (Microsoft 365) environments. 1. Establish a Secure Server Connection
CodeTwo Backup uses dedicated server connections to interact securely with your Exchange infrastructure.
Access the Management Console: Navigate to the Dashboard or Jobs tab and select the option to manage server connections.
Select the Server Type: Choose between on-premises Exchange server or Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) based on your deployment. Authenticate Securely:
For Exchange Online, use the Automatic registration wizard. Log in with a Global Administrator or Privileged Role Administrator account to automatically register CodeTwo Backup in Microsoft Entra ID. The application secures this connection using a unique, dedicated SSL certificate.
Enforce Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on your administrator account to block unauthorized configuration changes.
