EMP SlideMaker 2 is a legacy proprietary utility software developed by Epson. Its primary function is to convert Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and images into a proprietary “scenario” format. These scenarios are optimized for PC-free presentations using Epson projectors equipped with EasyMP networking or storage technology.
Instead of carrying a laptop, a presenter could save the compiled files onto a storage medium (such as a PCMCIA card, USB flash drive, or network drive) and plug it directly into the projector. Key Features
PowerPoint Conversion: It converts presentation slides into highly compressed, standard JPEG files to assemble a standalone slideshow.
Compression Control: Presenters can choose between “Highest image quality” (larger file sizes) and “Standard” quality (smaller file sizes, faster projection load times).
Media Integration: Users can register static images, animations, and certain video formats (like MPEG2-PS) directly into the playback timeline.
Playback Management: It allows users to set custom slide orders, configure manual or automatic slide advance timings, and carry over basic PowerPoint transition effects. System & Format Requirements
PowerPoint Limitations: EMP SlideMaker 2 does not support PowerPoint 95 or 97. Files must be saved in PowerPoint 2000 or newer.
Image Restrictions: It cannot process progressive JPEG formats or CMYK color profiles.
Audio Restrictions: The compatible audio format for video playback is strictly limited to MPEG-1 Layer 2. Linear PCM and AC-3 files are unsupported. Compatible Hardware
The software was specifically designed to interface with early-to-mid 2000s Epson projector series, including the EMP-735, EMP-745, EMP-765, EMP-7850, and EMP-7950 lineups.
